This piece is from John Grinsell & Sons; who have a very long track record in making leviathan like pieces combining; glass, crystal and silver. Yet most we have seen, still manage to look elegant and pleasing on the eye, This is a simple, well executed inkwell whose bulk virtually disappears beneath its plain silver disc lid. It is surprising that it was actually a product of the Victorian era, but indicates that toward the end of her reign, new design was being explored and bought by the public.
