Silver Mounted Match Striker, Paper Weight & Desk Tidy

This large match striker has been saved from being destroyed with a refresh that includes new dark green leather to both the bottom and the base of the match holder. It has also been refilled with sand weighting, traditionally used in the Victorian and early 20th century. The green sand used in this restoration offers a subtle additional lift to that offered by either; an empty globe or beach/white sand found in other examples. The makers mark is mistruck, but the work is similar to that of Henry Perkins & Sons. All other hallmarks are readable.
