Item Details
Duchin Creations weighted Sterling Silver, glass lined salt & pepper cruet shakers from Duchin Creations.
Duchin Creations had its headquarters in New York (Ny, U.S.A.) and was a popular maker of a large line of sterling hollow-ware in the 1940's into the 1950's.
Maurice Duchin Creations started fairly soon after the end of Ww2.
I am told the 'hand' trademark dates to the 1940s and it was still in use in the mid '70s, when their then silverplate and other metal gifts were retailed as 'fine gifts' in silver and china departments of many department stores.
I understand the 'hand' represented family member Eddy Duchin, a pianist and bandleader; his son Peter was also a pianist. I am led to believe they stopped using the 'hand' mark in the 1980s
There is another company in existence, called Gloria Duchin that seemingly started in the 1970s; making metal Christmas ornaments and other small items. However they may not have any connection to the Maurice Duchin enterprises.
