Item Details
These large late 19th/early 20th Century Mother of Pearl Butterfly Dishes are seldom found in true pairs, and these are no exception. Complete with their white metal butterflies, they are similar to those produced by the renowned Far Eastern Silversmith Wang Hing but unmarked.
Nevertheless, they are very decorative and could be used for a myriad of purposes around the house, beyond that of just serving your daily import of Caviar!
Smaller Mother Pearl dishes we have previously sold, have found favour in the Wedding Market, either as photographic props, floral arrangement vases and ring cushion holders.
Each is set on three white metal ball feet. two of the six feet are compression creased (see photograph).
