Item Details
This large silver casket is made by Clark and Sewell and may have its origins in the products that C&S were more renowned for during the late 19th Century. Specifically, they made a name more widely through items connected with tobacco products; cigarette cases, cigar cases, tabletop cigarette boxes, etc. However, when we found this casket, the interior was completely missing and there was no clue as to its past…not even an oddment of tobacco leaf!
Because of the clean and classic lines of the casket we have taken our lead from the item itself and relined it in a sumptuous deep blue velvet in the traditional style. We have also left the gilt lid clear, completing a minimalistic, but chic look.
