Item Details
Very unusual and rare silver clad pocket watch stand from the esteemed Arthur and John Zimmerman. Dating from 1920, whilst some may say it is not a fully developed Art Deco design, it is certainly; sleek, simple, impactful, geometric and a country mile from it's Victorian fore-runners.
Based on an ebonised wooden block, shrouded in silver on all but rear plane, it's only real concession to unnecessary decoration is the light regular reeding to the rim of the face.
The window (front facing) is 60mm in diameter, with a 70mm diameter door to the rear for placement of the pocket watch.

Condition is good for an item entering it's second century.
The silver casing has light surface scratching commensurate with age and use.
There is a small dink in the silver, just above the circular window which looks likely to have been caused by a previous owner being a little over zealous when placing a watch in the stand.
The hinge to the rear access is strong as are the closure flaps.
The interior has a void above the window for the watch winder and hoop, and the rear door has a small round cushion. Other than that there is no other interior fitment.
