This is a lovely simple silver compact by Crisford & Norris whose silver is still highly sought-after, owing to their compelling novel designs. Small silver items including: Pin cushions, rattles, compacts, and even trophies were all manufactured by this Birmingham silversmith, operating from 1896 to 1976. With their simple silver mark [C&N within a rectangle] these well collected pieces always have an enduring value.

Overall the compact is in good antique condition with; some light surface scratching, bright hallmarks and very few dinks for something that was subject to the daily rigours of a handbag, purse or pocket. The cartouche carries a ‘GW’ monogram.
