This is an intriguing crested heavy silver cufflink box with possible connections to the Bedfordshire Yeomanry carrying an inscription on the inside of the lid that reads "To, Captain M B Thompson, from Lt Col. Price Wood, 1914-1917.

Condition is fair to good with light surface scratching, several dinks (see photographs), renewed interior hand dyed velvet, solid hinge and body with heavy gauge silver and gilt lid interior.
The crest in relief is a silver depiction of a Castle being embraced by a silver gilt crowned bird of some size, maybe an eagle.
Hallmarks are good with a full set to the up-stand of the base and reduced Passant sterling mark and date letter 'r' to the lid inner above the inscription.
