Antique Silver Half Sovereign Case

A delightful, if careworn half sovereign case from Gf Wall; the small Birmingham silversmith who seems to have become the 'go to' manufacturer of; single, double and even triple, sovereign and half sovereign cases during their very short existence (1909 -to 1915). This particular case has had a lot of use, as witnessed by the dents to the rear half of the case. The front is far better despite a few knocks and the interior, although not pristine admirably portrays the skill of the silversmiths engaged at Wall's. On the upside; the catch, hinge and spring are all strong. All in all, this is a delightful and well used example of an item widely collected and enjoyed, both in the UK and overseas.
