Antique Silver "Astral Safety Crochet Hook Protector"

In the original retail Morocco leather, velvet and silk lined box, this very rare hallmarked silver crochet hook case also contains; several period needles and the ubiquitous faudelite '1' hook. Lest it is misrepresented, the interior of the case reassures the owner in gilt script that it is "The Astral Safety Crochet Hook Protector and that it is protected by "Patent 4730 - 09". The hinged cover is engraved with scrolling floral branches, and has a vacant oval cartouche 13.2cm. The case is hallmarked Birmingham 1910 and stamped with the mark of Henry Williamson Ltd.
