Item Details
This is somewhat of an oddity insofar as it was found at an auction in a box of other frames that were all blackened by oxidisation and barely merited a second look. However, after having thoroughly cleaned both the silver and the wooden frame, we think that whilst somewhat austere, it is nevertheless functional and attractive. The easel back is similarly plain having been thoroughly sanded and polished. In contrast the backplate now wears a blue silk pad to accommodate the photograph. The frame will accommodate a photograph up to approximately 12.5 x 9cm.
Please be aware that this frame is 120 years old and therefore bears signs of its previous life. In this case there are a few obvious polish holes in the silver and a dink to the vacant cartouche.
If you are looking for a frame that is simple yet decorative, you should definitely consider this one.

The silver is generally in good condition, but as previously indicated it does bear evidence of previous owners polishing and also has a dink or two. However, this does nothing to impact the overall aesthetic or practical use of the item. Consequently, please do make time to review all of the pictures to gain a full appreciation of the item and its condition.
