This very good-looking trinket box-cum-pincushion, on four sturdy legs would grace any sewing box and provide be a lovely present for the seamstress, embroiderer or sewer in your life.
The pincushion lid of the box is well padded and could also accommodate hat pins if required. The interior is finished in pale pink silk and velvet, picking up the cue from the velvet on the lid. The hinged pincushion lifts out in its entirety, enabling cleaning of the silver without impacting the velvet. Equally the velvet and silk can be brushed and cleaned without fear of scratching the silver.

ConditionOverall, the silver is in good condition considering the use it must have had over the last 100 years. As such, it does have light surface scratching commensurate with age and a number of small dinks at each end, perhaps reflecting how much use it has had since being made just after the conclusion of the First World War. The fabric is not original, but hand dyed velvet, and silk.
